CCPS Nutrition Association – Renee Packard Scholarship

The Chesterfield County Public School system is offering a graduating senior who will pursue a career in culinary arts, hotel management, or food nutrition this scholarship.  See high school guidance counselor for further information.

 

Virginia Foundation for Community College Education Scholarships

Students can earn scholarship money through this statewide scholarship program.  See link for details pertaining to specific community colleges.

 

John Randolph Foundation Scholarships

The John Randolph Foundation offers numerous scholarships for specific areas in Virginia.  Click on individual scholarship links for additional criteria.

 

Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show, Inc. (MANTS) Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of one of the three MANTS member states listed.  Attendance at an institution within these states is not mandatory.  One must be an undergraduate or graduate student in a landscape/horticulture program or related discipline at a two or four year institution and carry a full time course load at the time of application and during the semesters for which the scholarship is granted.  A 2.7 overall GPA and a minimum 3.0 GPA in their major is required.

 

Dixie Boys Baseball Bernie Varnadore Scholarship Program

For outstanding high school seniors who were participants in a Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. program and plan to attend college.  One may have participated in the Dixie Boys Baseball program for boys 13 & 14 years old, Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball for boys 15 & 16 years old; and Dixie Majors Baseball for boys 15 through 19 years old.  High school grades and testing and evidence of strong school and community leadership are required, as well as financial need.

 

Dixie Youth Baseball Scholarship

For high school seniors.  Must have played in a Dixie Youth Baseball league before the age of 13.  This scholarship is not based on athletic ability.

 

Washington Regional Transplant Community (WRTC) Legacy of Life Essay & Video Contest

WRTC is offering high school seniors in their service area an opportunity to receive scholarship money for college by writing an essay or creating a video in regards to organ donation.  See link for specific criteria for these lucrative scholarships.

 

The Richmond Public Relations Foundation David P. Hurdle, William Dietrick and Daphne Lowell Dailey Memorial Scholarships

Three scholarships will be awarded to juniors or seniors of select Virginia colleges and universities who plan to pursue a career in public relations. One does not need to be a public relations major but should be planning to pursue work in public relations upon graduation.  An essay is required.  In addition to the colleges listed, the applicant may go to any college as long as their permanent residence is in this designated area:

Central Virginia residents are those living within the Richmond MSA, which includes the independent cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell and Colonial Heights; the counties of Amelia, Caroline, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, King William, New Kent, Powhatan, Prince George and Sussex; and the incorporated towns of Ashland and Bowling Green.

To apply for one of the scholarships, please prepare and submit the following items:

A copy of their transcript (including GPA); unofficial transcripts are acceptable, but the winners may be asked for official transcripts for verification purposes

A resume, to include work experiences and internships

A typed, doubled-spaced, single-page essay on “Why I Want to Work in Public Relations”

Virginia International Business Council Scholarship

VAIBC has established a scholarship program for college students in the State of Virginia.  Applicants should have an interest in International Business and be a rising undergraduate junior, senior or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or better.  Please see link for additional criteria.

 

John Tyler Community Foundation Scholarships

The John Tyler Community Foundation scholarships are made possible by donor gifts.  To be eligible one must be enrolled or plan to enroll in a degree program at JTCC.  A minimum 2.5 GPA is required, along with having completed a current FAFSA which needs to be on file at John Tyler before the scholarship deadline date.  In-state tuition status is required.
