Fort Lee Federal Credit Union – Excellence In Leadership Scholarships

Applicants need to be members of the Ft. Lee Federal Credit Union who will attend a two or four year institution for the Collegiate Leadership Awards or technical school for the Career Path Leadership Award.

 

Virginia Association for Teachers of Family & Consumer Sciences – Martha Creighton Scholarship

The applicant must be a graduate of a Virginia high school who is planning to pursue or is pursuing an education in Family and Consumer Sciences or a Family and Consumer Sciences related field.

 

Virginia Association for Teachers of Family & Consumer Sciences – Helen Hopper Scholarship

Available for a high school senior, college student or graduate student majoring in Family Life Education.

 

Virginia Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (VAFCS) Mary Margaret Barry Award

This graduate student scholarship is open to all members of VAFCS who have not previously received this award.  The scholarship is open to students majoring in all fields of study within Family and Consumer Sciences programs, however, preference will be given to those majoring in apparel, textiles, fashion design and merchandising or related areas.

 

Virginia Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (VAFCS) Ida B. Powell Graduate Scholarship

Must be a graduate student enrolled in a Virginia college or university and majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences.  The student must be a member of a professional organization of American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.  An overall GPA of 2.5 and a 3.0 in Family and Consumer Sciences classes are required.

 

Association for the Study of African-American Life & History, Louisa Branch – Pearlie Rebecca Askew Scholarship

For African-American students who demonstrate academic achievement and social awareness.  A 500 word essay is required.  See high school guidance counselor for application.

 

Enon Elementary School PTO Scholarship

Must be a senior who went to Enon Elementary and is graduating from a Chesterfield County high school.  Essay required.  See high school guidance counselor for further details.

 

Fary Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established to assist students from rural areas to continue their educational goals.  Applicants must reside in one of the areas specified.  A 3.5 minimum GPA is required along with a SAT Reading & Math score of 1160 or above or ACT score of at least 24.  Leadership, community service, honors and awards along with three letters of recommendation and an essay will also be considered.

 

Richmond Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Richmond Section Scholarship

This scholarship is open to women entering the field of engineering or computer science.  The applicant must be a female in the Richmond area who has been accepted at an ABET accredited school.  She should be entering her first year of college/university.

 

Holman Middle School PTA Scholarship

Applicant must have attended Holman Middle School for at least one year and be a graduating high school senior who is well rounded and demonstrates positive character traits.  See high school guidance counselor for further details.
