Virginia High School League – Col. Charles E. Savedge Student Journalist Scholarship

Open to graduating seniors with a minimum of 2 staff years on yearbook, newspaper/magazine or equivalent participation through contributions to community or professional publications. Applicants must demonstrate leadership, writing skills, design aptitude, creativity, organization, industry, teamwork, and character. Applicants apply to an accredited college/university and be nominated by a faculty member.

 

Virginia Department of Education – Granville P. Meade Scholarship

Open to residents of Virginia who are high school seniors expecting to attend college.  Students are selected based on GPA, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, and financial need. Contact Guidance Office for application.

 

Bettie Weaver Elementary School PTA Scholarship

The PTA of Bettie Weaver Elementary School (BWE) has established a scholarship grant to a college-bound graduating senior. Open to any college-bound graduating senior who attended Bettie Weaver Elementary School for all or part of elementary school.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate respect and awareness for the environment and the local community, as
evidenced by active volunteer involvement. In addition, the candidate should possess exemplary personal
characteristics: honesty, courtesy, responsibility, empathy, tolerance, and respect for others.

 

Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Scholarship Program

For over 10 years, ACG Richmond has proudly supported students from across Central Virginia in their pursuit of professions in the field of business. Candidates for these highly competitive, merit-based scholarships are chosen through a rigorous selection process.

It has been an unprecedented year of unique challenges for all of us personally, educationally and professionally.  However, even during this challenging time, scholarships remain a priority for our ACG Richmond Board of Directors. We are pleased to honor our commitment to scholarship support by opening 2021 ACG Richmond Scholarship applications to prior-year recipients.

Armenian Education Center of Virginia Essay Contest

Each year the Armenian Education Center awards a scholarship to the winner of their essay contest. These essay questions help students to generate awareness and build a general understanding of the Armenian Genocide.  This scholarship is available to 9-12 grade students.

The Armenian Education Center is pleased to announce an essay question contest. The core purpose of your essay is to answer the question: How do we know the Armenian Genocide really happened?

Both an emailed version and two mailed hard copies are required by April 28, 2023. Please paperclip the hard copies and mail them unfolded in a manila envelope. The essay must be in MLA format, typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman 12 font. Mail two hard copies to : The Armenian Education Center c/o St. James Armenian Church 834 Pepper Avenue Richmond, VA 23226 and email a copy to director@armenian-educationcenter.org

 

American Saddlebred Horse Association of Virginia (ASHAV) Scholarship

Open to high school graduate members of ASHAV under age 21 who demonstrate financial need, a commitment to the American Saddlebred industry, and academic success.
