Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads – Kelly G. Southard Memorial Scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship:

1) You or your parent must have been a member of the VAVRS, AVAVRS, or VAJVRS for at least 2 years

2) You must be accepted at a fully accredited college or university or waiting acceptance at an institution in the field of Architecture or the Medical field which is the criteria for this scholarship

3) You must be less than 65 years old during the calendar year in which you are receiving the award

4) You cannot have received this award before

American Public Power Association DEED Funding for Students

DEED offers four types of funding for students — educational scholarships, student internships, student research grants, and technical design projects.

See link for information on the requirements for the four types of funding available.

Applicants must be full-time students attending or planning to attend a vocational institution, lineworker school or two to four-year college/university within the U.S. and must not be graduating within 12 months of the application deadline. Those interested in a career as a public power lineworker should indicate interest in the educational scholarship. Official transcripts must be submitted by the application deadline.

 

Virginia Head Start Alumni Scholarship

The Virginia Head Start Alumni High School Senior Scholarship is open to high school seniors who were former Virginia Head Start students. He or she must plan to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited two or four-year college or technical school.

 

Mid-Atlantic Certified Crop Advisors Scholarship

The Mid-Atlantic Certified Crop Advisers Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipients.  The selection will be based on the student’s agricultural background, relevant field involvement, financial need, grade point average, agronomic related studies, career goals, and extra curricular activities.

 

The Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast (CASE) Scholarship Program

The Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast (CASE) is offering scholarships to college students in southeastern states for the upcoming academic year. The scholarship program’s mission is to encourage students who reside in a southeastern state to become future working members of the Casualty Actuarial Society.  States included are:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia.  Incoming freshmen/first year students are not eligible.

 

Southeastern Theatre Conference, Inc. (SETC) Graduate Studies Scholarships

Five scholarships are being offered by the SETC for graduate students studying the various disciplines of theatre including directing, acting, theatre, musical theatre and costume design and technology.   Applicants must attend, have attended, or plan to attend a school in the SETC region which includes: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia.

 

Southeastern Theatre Conference, Inc. (SETC) Undergraduate Scholarships

This scholarship is offered for a high school senior planning to major in theater in the SETC region.  The SETC region includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

 

Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Essay Contest

The Fourth Circuit Student Essay Contest is open to all students currently in grades 6 through 12 from Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

 

Cobb Imprint Memorial Scholarship in Honor of Marvin Williams

The scholarship will be awarded to a senior at a school in either Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, or Richmond Public Schools that has lost one or both parents. In memory of Marvin Williams, former Cobb employee, this scholarship will recognize superior community service.  Financial need is required, along with having met with a GRASP advisor during senior year.

 

Kersey Creek ES PTA Alumni Scholarship

Applicant must have attended Kersey Creek Elementary School.  The applicant must be planning to attend a college/university or technical school in the fall and have at least a 3.0 GPA.  Applicant must be a member of the PTSA and have a parent that is also a member.  An essay is required.

 

Enon Elementary – Beth Molter Scholarship

This scholarship is in honor of former Enon alumnus and teacher, Beth Molter.  Applicant must be a former Enon student planning to attend college.  An essay is required.

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – CST Group Scholarship

Must be enrolled in the fall 2024 semester as a junior or senior undergraduate accounting major at  University of Virginia or George Mason University.

Must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.

 

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Delta Zeta Chapter – Darlene Lavern Hamilton Memorial Scholarship

The Darlene Hamilton Memorial Scholarship award will be made to a deserving female high school senior to cover educational costs.  The award is targeted to:

  • female high school senior

  • attends a Henrico County High School with an expected graduation date of Spring 2023

  • exhibits personal integrity and excellence through academic achievement and community involvement, and

  • demonstrates a moderate to significant need for financial assistance in attaining her educational goals.

 

Skipwith Elementary School – William E. Harding Scholarships

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who attended Skipwith Elementary for a least one year.  Must have financial need.  Contact high school counselor for information.

 

Sports Backers (Raymond D. Patterson & Cheryl Lockett Oliver) Scholarships

A $2,500 award will be given to both an athletic male and female high school senior for the continuation of their education.  Must have financial need and at least a 2.5 GPA.

 

Community Foundation – Captain Earle Worley Scholarship

The Captain Earle Worley Scholarship Fund was established in 2017 to honor the memory of Captain Earle Worley.  The purpose of the Fund is to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying graduates of public or private high schools in Virginia, attending an accredited two- or four-year community college, college or university, or vocational school in the United States who plan to study aeronautics, aerospace, aviation or related engineering.

 

United States Senate Youth Program Scholarships

Qualified high school junior or seniors must show demonstrated leadership by serving in elected or appointed positions in which they are actively representing or previously represented a constituency in organizations related to student government, education, public affairs and community service. They must be actively serving in qualified leadership positions, enrolled in high school and living in the state (and for these purposes the District of Columbia) that they will represent for the entire 2023 – 2024 academic year.  All student leadership positions are subject to the judgement and verification of the state selection administrators.
