The Headwaters Soil & Water Conservation District Scholarship guidelines/criteria allow full-time students who have applied to a college undergraduate level curriculum to apply for the SWCD Scholarship Program. These scholarships are offered to graduating high school students as well as college students. Preference may be given to applicants who have not previously received a Headwaters SWCD scholarship. Eligible applicants
must reside or attend school within the boundaries of the Headwaters SWCD (Augusta County, the City of
Staunton, or the City of Waynesboro).
Recipients are selected based on various criteria including: academic achievement, school and community involvement, interest in natural resources conservation, as well as financial need.
The District also screens applications and selects one application to forward on to the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) for consideration for one of the available VASWCD Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarships.
Requirements
The scholarship is open to all Richmond and surrounding public school high school seniors. The eligibility requirements for the scholarship are below:
Attend one of the Richmond or surrounding county public schools for at least a year.
Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two or four-year college or university.
Graduate during the spring or summer of the year 2025
Scholarship Description:
Finalists are selected on the basis of academic record, extra-curricular activities, and essay.
The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution and can be used for tuition, books, or other approved school related costs.
Scholarship Criteria:
The Tyler Wentz Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to provide financial support for higher learning to a student at Godwin High School who has demonstrated exceptional kindness, outstanding attitude and character, strong community involvement, positivity, and great Godwin spirit. Must be nominated for this opportunity.
The David A Kaechele Memorial Scholarship Fund is presented by the Henrico Education Foundation in memory of Henrico Supervisor David A Kaechele. The funds may be used for tuition, books or other school related costs and will be paid directly to the educational institution. Applicants must be enrolled in Henrico County Public Schools and have attended Kaechele Elementary School for at least one year, and possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Bruce Kay Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies: Scholarships are awarded to selected undergraduate college students based on an expected interest in pursuing a career in the insurance and risk management industry. Consideration will be given based on academic and extracurricular achievements and application responses. Eligible students must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited Virginia two or four-year college or university with an intent to enroll or currently enrolled in a business degree program with an interest in pursuing a career in the insurance and risk management industry.
High School Scholarship: Scholarships are awarded to selected college-bound high school seniors based on an expected interest in pursuing a business degree. Consideration will be given based on academic and extracurricular achievements and application responses. Eligible students must be graduating high school seniors who reside in the Greater Richmond Region and intend to continue their education at a Virginia two or four-year college or university with the intent to enroll in a business degree program.
This scholarship seeks to honor the life and legacy of Chris Jones by supporting students who share his passions.
Any high school senior in Virginia who is an innovative, community-minded change agent may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they will begin their bachelor’s degree in the Fall.

In 1996-97 Hanover County Public Schools, supported by a grant from the Virginia Department of Education, began a program called Serve & Learn. The program’s purpose was to encourage and acknowledge the importance of volunteer service to the community. With the goal of annually rewarding the community service commitments of Hanover students, the Serve & Learn program, now sponsored by Hanover Education Foundation, awards a $1,000 scholarship to ONE senior in each high school who successfully fulfills a 100-hour commitment to community service in ONE location commencing in sophomore year. The Mid-Atlantic STA Foundation is dedicated to the needs of students of business, finance, and economics and is proud to offer our Annual Scholarship Awards. This year the Foundation intends to award two $2,000 scholarships for high school seniors who have participated in Stock Market Game (one from MD and one from VA) for their first year of college, and two $5,000 college/university scholarships to candidates selected from our member jurisdiction of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The scholarship winners will be announced in August, with monies forwarded to the respective schools on behalf of the recipients prior to the Fall semester.
Scholarships available for LPN and RN programs. To be considered for a Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
1. Residency in VA for at least 1 year,
2. Enrollment or acceptance to VA nursing school program,
3. Maintain a 2.5 GPA in required courses,

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district.
The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in the 3rd Congressional District of Virginia. The over-all winner of our district’s competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from other contest winners nation-wide.
Omega Rho Omega chapter is excited to award scholarships to African American, high school seniors graduating from Varina High School, Charles City High School, Henrico High School, Highland Springs High School or New Kent High School.

The scholarship program of the Richmond Alumnae Chapter – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is committed to offering financial support through scholarships to deserving students in the local area who aim to pursue educational goals beyond high school. In providing this assistance, the desired outcome is that students fulfill professional objectives and lead successful and independent lives.

Criteria:

Applicant should be a Chesterfield County high school student who plans to enroll in a post-secondary school or college with a concentration in the medical field. The award is based on merit and need.
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating female high school student who plans to enter the field of business and/or other professions. The highly competitive award is conducted by the Eastern Region of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., and administered through the local chapters.
Scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating female or male high school student who plans to enter the field of business and/or related field. GPA of 2.5 or higher required.
For a high school senior who attended Elmont Elementary School. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. A short essay is required.
These scholarships are available to students who are rising freshmen, undergraduates, and graduate students who plan to study or are studying in the water/environmental science programs at a Virginia college or university.
Through the M. W. PRINCE HALL GRAND LODGE OF VIRGINIA Continuing SCHOLARSHIP FUND, continuing scholarships will be awarded to 2nd, 3rd & 4th year students who are the children or grandchildren of a Prince Hall Mason in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Continuing scholarships are available to 2nd, 3rd & 4th year students. They are ranked based on academic achievement (minimum 2.0 GPA), leadership, service, and participation in activities both in and out of school.
Scholarships will be awarded to two students who previously attended Mechanicsville Elementary for at least three years. High school seniors who attend any one of the four Hanover County high schools may apply. Parent or guardian membership of a Hanover PTA is required, as well as a 3.0 or higher GPA.
Scholarships range from $3,000 to $20,000.
Scholarship amounts are determined based on need.
Scholarships will be disbursed equally across the years of the degree. For example, a scholar awarded $6,000 to attend community college would receive $3,000 per year for two years. A scholar awarded $10,000 for a four-year university would receive $2,500 per year for four years.
Application requirements:
– GPA of a 3.0 or higher
– Be a Hanover County Resident
– Be graduating in the 2025-2026 school year (private, public or homeschool school welcome)
– Have community service or work experience with people who have developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and/or substance use disorder or plans to pursue a degree in one of the following: Special Education, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Early Intervention, Adapted Physical Education, Speech-Language Pathology, Therapeutic Recreation, etc.
