Henrico Education Foundation – Dayne Michael Kaufman Memorial Scholarship  

The Dayne Michael Kaufman Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Dayne Kaufman. The scholarship is created to encourage students to pursue educational opportunities after their senior year of high school. Applicants must be graduating seniors from Deep Run High School who are in good scholastic standing and who have an established history of extra-curricular or community service participation. The award is to be used for tuition, books or other school related costs and will be paid directly to the educational institution. Applicants must be planning to pursue a diploma from an accredited college or university and possess a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher.

 

Henrico Education Foundation – Henrico Board of Supervisors Scholarships

Henrico County Board of Supervisors members Mr. Frank J. Thornton and Mrs. Patricia S. O’Bannon retired after three decades of service in December of 2023. Both Mr. Thornton and Mrs. O’Bannon were trailblazers on the Board of Supervisors, as the first African American and first woman, respectively, to serve on the Board. These two supervisors are not only dedicated public servants, but also change agents who have established lasting legacies in Henrico.

ELIGILIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Be enrolled in either Glen Allen High School or Mills Godwin High School at the time of application.
  • Be a high school senior planning to pursue further study or training beyond high school.
  • Be pursuing a Standard or an Advanced Studies diploma.
  • Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.

 

Henrico Education Foundation – Lara Teague Curry Memorial Scholarship Fund

ELIGILIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Be a senior planning to pursue further study or training beyond high school;
  • Be pursuing a Standard or Advanced Studies diploma;
  • Demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.0;
  • Be enrolled in Douglas S. Freeman High School and received instruction from Lara Teague Curry.

 

The Askew Scholarship Program

The Askew Scholarship Program is provided through the generosity of the
Askew/Harrington families and awarded by Corinth United Methodist Church
Scholarship Committee. Scholarships are awarded annually to individuals who grew up
in or presently reside on the east side of Richmond (i.e.. Eastern Henrico, New Kent,
Varina, Sandston, etc.) who are in degree programs or post degree programs that
address the root causes of violence and create change. This would include, but not be
limited to: the fields of criminal justice, international relations, education, psychology,
interreligious studies, ethics, peace studies, conflict resolution, social work and ministry.

 

Henrico Education Foundation – Lucia Whalen Bremer Memorial Scholarship

The selection committee will review applications through a blinded process facilitated by the Henrico Education Foundation. Applicants must have attended Quioccasin Middle School for at least one year, be pursuing a Standard or an Advanced Studies diploma, and possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Tyler Wentz Godwin High School Memorial Scholarship

Mission Statement:

The Tyler Wentz Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to provide financial support for higher learning to a student at Godwin High School who has demonstrated exceptional kindness, outstanding attitude and character, strong community involvement, positivity, and great Godwin spirit.  Must be nominated for this opportunity.

 

Henrico Education Foundation – David A. Kaechele Memorial Scholarship

The David A Kaechele Memorial Scholarship Fund is presented by the Henrico Education Foundation in memory of Henrico Supervisor David A Kaechele. The funds may be used for tuition, books or other school related costs and will be paid directly to the educational institution. Applicants must be enrolled in Henrico County Public Schools and have attended Kaechele Elementary School for at least one year, and possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Delta Zeta Chapter – Darlene Lavern Hamilton Memorial Scholarship

The Darlene Hamilton Memorial Scholarship award will be made to a deserving female high school senior to cover educational costs.  The award is targeted to:

  • female high school senior

  • attends a Henrico County High School with an expected graduation date of Spring 2023

  • exhibits personal integrity and excellence through academic achievement and community involvement, and

  • demonstrates a moderate to significant need for financial assistance in attaining her educational goals.
