Applicants must demonstrate leadership, writing skills, design aptitude, creativity, organization, industry, teamwork, and character. Applicants apply to an accredited college/university and be nominated by a faculty member.
Open to residents of Virginia who are high school seniors expecting to attend college. Students are selected based on GPA, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, and financial need. Contact Guidance Office for application.
The PTA of Bettie Weaver Elementary School (BWE) has established a scholarship grant to a college-bound graduating senior. Open to any college-bound graduating senior who attended Bettie Weaver Elementary School for all or part of elementary school.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate respect and awareness for the environment and the local community, as
evidenced by active volunteer involvement. In addition, the candidate should possess exemplary personal
characteristics: honesty, courtesy, responsibility, empathy, tolerance, and respect for others.
