Korean American Scholarship Foundation – Eastern Regional Chapter High School Scholarship

Available for students with a Korean heritage studying in the United States regardless of citizenship status (including Korean Nationals). If extra funds are available, other students (non-Korean) may qualify for some scholarships.

Must be a full time student at a school in one of the designated Eastern region states and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Available for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors – Scholarships awarded based on achievement (not based on financial need).

American Public Power Association DEED Funding for Students

DEED offers four types of funding for students — educational scholarships, student internships, student research grants, and technical design projects.

See link for information on the requirements for the four types of funding available.

Applicants must be full-time students attending or planning to attend a vocational institution, lineworker school or two to four-year college/university within the U.S. and must not be graduating within 12 months of the application deadline. Those interested in a career as a public power lineworker should indicate interest in the educational scholarship. Official transcripts must be submitted by the application deadline.

 

Southeastern Theatre Conference, Inc. (SETC) Graduate Studies Scholarships

Five scholarships are being offered by the SETC for graduate students studying the various disciplines of theatre including directing, acting, theatre, musical theatre and costume design and technology.   Applicants must attend, have attended, or plan to attend a school in the SETC region which includes: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia.

 

Cobb Imprint Memorial Scholarship in Honor of Marvin Williams

The scholarship will be awarded to a senior at a school in either Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, or Richmond Public Schools that has lost one or both parents. In memory of Marvin Williams, former Cobb employee, this scholarship will recognize superior community service.  Financial need is required, along with having met with a GRASP advisor during senior year.

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – CST Group Scholarship

Must be enrolled in the fall 2024 semester as a junior or senior undergraduate accounting major at  University of Virginia or George Mason University.

Must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.

 

Sports Backers All Star Scholarships

Each ALL Star will earn a $2500 scholarship by successful completion of the program
requirements. The scholarship will be sent directly to the student’s college of choice. Any funds
that are unable to be used in the upcoming academic year will be held for use in future years or
for graduate studies.

 

United States Senate Youth Program Scholarships

Qualified high school junior or seniors must show demonstrated leadership by serving in elected or appointed positions in which they are actively representing or previously represented a constituency in organizations related to student government, education, public affairs and community service. They must be actively serving in qualified leadership positions, enrolled in high school and living in the state (and for these purposes the District of Columbia) that they will represent for the entire 2025 – 2026 academic year.  All student leadership positions are subject to the judgement and verification of the state selection administrators. 

 

Virginia Airport Operators Council (VAOC) Kenneth R. Scott Scholarship

Named in honor of Ken Scott for his contribution to the advancement of airport management in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  For your application to be considered one must have at least a 3.5 unweighted GPA, be planning a career in the field of aviation and accepted into an aviation related program at an accredited college.

 

Leadership For The 21st Century Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the Chesterfield County Black History Month Committee for all eligible CCPS students.

Open to all CCPS seniors planning to attend a VIRGINIA college/university.
6 recipients will be selected: one(1) from each of the five magisterial districts of
Chesterfield County and one (1) student from our regional schools (Maggie Walker
Governor’s School, Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, or CodeRVA Regional
High School).

 

Asparagus Club Scholarship Fund

Affiliated with the National Grocers Association and created to enhance the future of the grocery industry by investing in education.  Each year scholarships are awarded to rising full time college sophomores , seniors, or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, food management or another relevant course of study leading to a career in the grocery industry.  A transcript, personal statement, resume and two letters of recommendation are required.

 

Junior Achievement of Central Virginia Future Laureate Scholarship

This competition is open to students currently enrolled in 9th-12th grade who have participated in at least one JA of Central Virginia program while enrolled in high school, including through external organizations. Up to one award will be given to a high school senior. Multiple awards may be given.

 

Capital One Virginia Military Dependent Scholarship

Applicant should be a resident of, or attending a high school in Virginia, who is a senior with a parent/guardian as an active duty service member.  The student must attend college in the upcoming academic year.

 

Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation – H. Earl Longest Endowment

Must reside in Colonial Farm Credit territory and major in ag-related field or come from a farming background.

 

Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation – Colonial Farm Credit Endowment

Must be a resident of Colonial Farm Credit’s chartered lending territory with an agricultural background who will major in an agricultural related field.

 

Community Foundation – Hill Family Scholarship Autism Spectrum

This scholarship will be awarded to a public or private high school senior who has a diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum, verified by an IEP, a 504 Plan, or confirmation from a special education teacher.  The student must demonstrate scholastic commitment and academic promise, and plan to enroll in an accredited college or university or a community college in the US.

A personal statement is required.

 

HCPS Teacher Scholars’ Program

Specifically for students interested in teaching and pursuing a career with Henrico County Public Schools after graduating college. HCPS wants to fill positions in areas where there is a critical shortage, including Spanish, Math, Exceptional Education, Science, Technology and Family & Consumer Sciences.  Contact high school counselor for additional details.

 

Homebase Credit Union – Excellence in Leadership Scholarships

  • Homebase Credit Union greatly values education and lifelong learning. Each year, we award scholarships to four graduating seniors within our membership. Qualified students submit applications and are judged anonymously on academic merit, personal achievements, demonstrated leadership experience, extra-curricular involvement and work/volunteer experience.

 

Fary Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established to assist students from rural areas to continue their educational goals.  Applicants must reside in one of the areas specified.  A 3.5 minimum GPA is required. Leadership, community service, honors and awards along with three letters of recommendation and an essay will also be considered.

 

James 2:26 Fund

The James 2:26 Fund Scholarship is a last-dollar scholarship for students seeking a bachelor’s degree at a public college or university located in Virginia with a preference for students living in public or subsidized housing. To the extent possible, this scholarship will cover the cost of tuition, fees, room and board, books and supplies not covered by other grants and scholarships the student receives. Recipients are required to live on campus for their first year of attendance if such housing is available.

Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show, Inc. (MANTS) Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must

  • Be a resident of one of the three MANTS member states: Maryland, Virginia, or West Virginia. Attendance at an institution within these states is not mandatory
  • Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate landscape/horticulture program or related discipline at a two or four year institution
  • Be enrolled in good standing and carry a full-time course load at the time of application and during the semesters for which the scholarship is granted
  • Have a minimum grade point average overall of 2.7 based on a scale of 4.0, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 in their major
  • Have at least a junior standing in a four-year curriculum or senior standing in a two-year curriculum as of the fall semester of scholarship application year.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who plan to work within the industry (including nursery operation, landscape architecture/design/construction/maintenance, interiorscape, horticultural distribution, or retail garden center) following graduation.
  • Previous Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship award winners are eligible for additional funding and may reapply for the scholarship.
