Henrico Education Foundation – Patricia Elaine Reynolds Scholarship

The Patricia Elaine Reynolds Scholarship was established to support Douglas S. Freeman High School high school graduates to pursue further study or training at an accredited two year or four year institution or trade school. Patricia was a Freeman Graduate herself and the first ever female recipient of the Athlete of the Year award. Scholarship funds may be used by the recipient for tuition, books, or other school-related costs that the recipient chooses. The scholarship funds will be paid directly into a Virginia 529 education account for the benefit and use of the award recipient. Applicants must be enrolled in Douglas S. Freeman High School at the time of application; a female senior Varsity athlete planning to pursue further study or training beyond high school; demonstrate financial need; and possess a minimum GPA of 2.75.

 

Fulton Bank Women in Technology Scholarship

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and demonstrate academic excellence.

Individuals who meet the following eligibility requirements may apply.

  • Identifies as female.
  • Currently resides in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia or Virginia (Fulton Bank, N.A.’s footprint).
  • Currently is a high school senior.
  • Accepted by and in the process of enrolling at an accredited two-to-four-year undergraduate degree program for the fall of the 2025/2026 academic school year.
  • Plans to major in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

Application Eligibility

Each Applicant must:

  • A graduating minority female senior enrolled in a high school located in the Metro Richmond and surrounding areas (Chesterfield & Henrico).
  •  Possess a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher based on a 4.0 scale
  • Accepted to a full-time study at an accredited four-year college or university and provide proof of acceptance.

 

Southern Automotive Women’s Forum (SAWF) Scholarship Program

About SAWF Scholarships
The SAWF Scholarship Program, introduced in 2011, provides financial assistance to women enrolled or enrolling in a STEM field at an accredited two-year technical program, four-year undergraduate program or a graduate program with a preference for those interested in the automobile and mobility industry.

 

FIRST Chesapeake Women in STEM Scholarships

Eligibility: Scholarships available for women (high school juniors and seniors) currently registered with a FIRST team in the FIRST Chesapeake District (FTC or FRC in DC, Maryland and Virginia)

 

Hanover Republican Women’s Club Scholarship

Available for a female candidate with strong leadership skills, community service, and political activities.

 

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority – Pi Rho Omega Chapter–Dr. Linda H. Gilliam Scholarship

 Scholarship Criteria:

  • Essay Topic: “Why I Want to Attend an HBCU” (300-500 words);
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrated service in her school and community.
  • A female student graduating from Chesterfield or Powhatan County Public Schools.
  • Enroll and attend a HBCU. Failure to do so will result in the award being rescinded.

 

Omega Rho Omega-Lisa Winn Bryan Scholarship

Omega Rho Omega chapter is excited to award two (2) $1,000 scholarships to two (2) African American, high school, female seniors graduating from schools in Eastern Henrico, Charles City or New Kent counties.

 

Gamma Delta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. – Anna J. Steen Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating female high school student who plans to enter the field of business and/or other professions. The highly competitive award is conducted by the Eastern Region of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., and administered through the local chapters.

 

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (Iota Sigma Chapter) Dr. Elizabeth J. Johnson Scholarship

This scholarship is available for a female high school senior who intends to further her education at a four-year college.  The applicant should have a 2.5 GPA or higher and submit two letters of recommendation.  An essay is required. Contact high school counselor for further information.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Judy Jones Bosserman Scholarship

To promote continuing education by awarding scholarships for any course of study at institutions of higher education to individuals who demonstrate academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, financial need and desire. These institutions may include technical colleges, community colleges, junior colleges and four-year colleges/universities.

Scholarship Applicants Must

  1. Be a female raised by a single mother;
  2. Submit an essay (at least 1 page) about what you have learned from your mother and how you plan to apply what you have learned in your future;
  3. Express an interest in attending college as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student (at least 6 hours per semester);
  4. Submit a completed “John Randolph Foundation Scholarship Application” ONLINE which includes the ability to UPLOAD the required “attachments” requested on the application;
  5. Must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better.

 

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Delta Zeta Chapter – Darlene Lavern Hamilton Memorial Scholarship

The Darlene Hamilton Memorial Scholarship award will be made to a deserving female high school senior to cover educational costs.  The award is targeted to:

  • female high school senior

  • attends a Henrico County High School with an expected graduation date of Spring 2023

  • exhibits personal integrity and excellence through academic achievement and community involvement, and

  • demonstrates a moderate to significant need for financial assistance in attaining her educational goals.

 

Virginia Federation of Republican Women Kendall Rhodes Memorial Scholarship

The VFRW is offering this scholarship to a graduating female high school senior who will be majoring in education.  The recipient must plan to attend an accredited college or university in the State of Virginia

 

Virginia Federation of Republican Women Republican Women Leading the Way Scholarship

VFRW is devoted to empowering women of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds in the political process. In support of this goal, A $2000 scholarship will be awarded to a Republican woman working to promote Republican principles on campus, in their communities, and in their daily lives.
Preference will be given to students majoring in a degree field that is directly related to Political Science.

 

Richmond Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Richmond Section Scholarship

This scholarship is open to women entering the field of engineering or computer science.  The applicant must be a female in the Richmond area who has been accepted at an ABET accredited school.  She should be entering her first year of college/university.

 

Dixie Softball Scholarship

Applicants must have participated in a Dixie softball program for at least 2 seasons.  Must have financial need.

 

American Association of University Women (AAUW) Greater Richmond Branch Scholarship

Preference will be given to women who are at least 30 years of age and legal residents of Virginia.  Applicants should be enrolled in an associate degree program and have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours toward a degree.  Applicants majoring in all academic fields are encouraged to apply, however those majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and other non-traditional majors will be given additional consideration.

 

Women in Public Finance (Virginia Chapter) Mary Blackwell Barnes Memorial Scholarship

Applicant should be an enrolled female college or graduate level student who has exhibited scholastic achievement and demonstrated leadership skills who is interested in a career in finance, government, nonprofits, or public law.  Applicant should be enrolled in a Virginia or District of Columbia college or university for the upcoming fall semester.

 

WTS Central Virginia Chapter – Patsy G. Napier Future Transportation Leader Scholarship

To be eligible one must be a female with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who is currently a senior enrolled in high school studying math, science and technology and considering a career in any of the many transportation related careers.

 

General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Virginia-Mary Macon McGuire Scholarship

This scholarship is given to a Virginia woman returning to school to upgrade her education and employment skills.  The applicant must be a woman head of household and a resident of Virginia.  The applicant must be currently enrolled in a course of study (vocational or academic) at an accredited Virginia school. An essay, resume and references must be included.

 

Virginia P.E.O. Foundation State Scholarship Fund

Available to women domiciled in Virginia to attend an accredited Virginia school of higher education on a full time basis. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, have financial need and be well-rounded in activities and have life or career goals that can be met through a specific field of study.  Three current character recommendations are required.

Virginia Council on Women – STEAM-H Essay Contest

The Virginia Council on Women (Council) will provide one merit-based and one need-based scholarship
to female high school seniors in each of the five geographic regions across the Commonwealth through a Science,
Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Healthcare (STEAM-H) essay contest.

 

Children’s Museum of Richmond – Snow Ambassador Scholarship

Do you know a High School Junior that demonstrates creativity and acts as a role model for all children, regardless of their age, ability, or background? The Children’s Museum of Richmond is currently accepting applications for its 2024 Snow Ambassador Scholarship. To be eligible, Snow Ambassador applicants must be current High School Juniors during the 2024-2025 school year, demonstrate a balance between extracurricular activities, academics, and community service, and be able to serve as the Snow Ambassador between January 2025-January 2026, as scheduled by the Children’s Museum.
