Community Foundation – Captain Earle Worley Scholarship

The Captain Earle Worley Scholarship Fund was established in 2017 to honor the memory of Captain Earle Worley.  The purpose of the Fund is to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying graduates of public or private high schools in Virginia, attending an accredited two- or four-year community college, college or university, or vocational school in the United States who plan to study aeronautics, aerospace, aviation or related engineering.

 

Virginia Airport Operators Council (VAOC) Kenneth R. Scott Scholarship

Named in honor of Ken Scott for his contribution to the advancement of airport management in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  For your application to be considered one must have at least a 3.5 unweighted GPA, be planning a career in the field of aviation and accepted into an aviation related program at an accredited college.

 

Virginia Aviation Business Association (VABA) – Charles J. Colgan Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a Virginia high school senior, technical school senior or college/university undergraduate who is pursuing an aviation related career at an accredited institution.  The applicant must submit an essay and letters of recommendation.   

 

Virginia Department of Aviation – Willard G. Plentl Aviation Scholarship

Awarded to a Virginia High School senior who is planning an aviation career in a non-engineering area. A certification of acceptance into a non-engineering, aviation-related postsecondary education program is required. Examples of non-engineering aviation careers include (but are not limited to) pilots, aviation maintenance technicians, aviation managers, etc. Scholarship applicants must have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5.

 

Virginia Airport Operators Council (VAOC) – John R. Lillard Scholarship

Open to a Virginia high school senior; have a 3.5 unweighted GPA; be planning a career in the field of aviation; must be enrolled or accepted into an aviation-related program at an accredited college: and must submit an essay on the subject: “Why I Wish to Pursue a Career in Aviation.”
