Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (VATA) Professional Development Scholarship – For Attendance of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposia

A one-time scholarship to a deserving student currently enrolled in their final year at an in-state CAATE-accredited athletic training education program or a graduate assistant certified athletic trainer who is in their final year of an in-state post-graduate program in the State of Virginia, in order to attend the above mentioned symposia.  Criteria for selection includes scholarship ability, leadership ability, citizenship/community service and dedication/interest in athletic training.  Two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from your NCAT) are required, along with other conditions of eligibility and verification of attendance and expenses related to the symposia upon return.

 

Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (VATA)-College/University Scholarship Award

A one-time scholarship to a deserving college/university student who will be entering their final year of an Accredited Athletic Training Education Program in the State of Virginia.  The program seeks to recognize a student for their scholarship ability, leadership ability, citizenship/community service and dedication/interest in athletic training.  Two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from your NCAT) are required.

 

Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association Tom Jones Scholarship

This scholarship is open to a deserving student who has been admitted into and is in
the process of entering their first year of a CAATE-accredited athletic training professional program within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

 

Virginia High School League (VHSL) – Vito Perriello Citizenship Award

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded during the school year, honoring one male and one female student-participant who demonstrates outstanding traits of citizenship in his/her high school career.  Only students graduating from a VHSL member school will be eligible for these awards. Each VHSL member school may nominate one male and one female student (a separate application is required for each individual).

Students must have previously participated in one or more VHSL activities which can include serving as an athletic training student aide (ATSA) with a Virginia licensed athletic trainer within that school to be eligible for the award.  All applications must be submitted to the VHSL office by the member school principal.
