Lara Teague Curry Memorial Scholarship Fund

Lara Teague Curry of Henrico County, VA, died unexpectedly and tragically on October 9, 2022, just eight days short of her thirty-eighth birthday. She is survived by her husband, Liam Curry, and their twin six-year-old sons, George and Jack and a host of other loving family members, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and students.

Lara was a graduate of Douglas Freeman High School in Henrico and the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg. After she received an advanced teaching degree from the University of Richmond, she returned to Freeman High School in 2009 as a social studies teacher and was named the Best New Teacher at that school. She was also named Freeman High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2016.

The Lara Teague Curry Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established so that her professional mission can carry on for years to come and continue to impact the Freeman Community that she so loved and where she was beloved in return.
