John Randolph Foundation – Weinstein Properties Scholarship for the Visual and Performing Arts

To promote continuing education in the field of visual and performing arts.  Individual should have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better, have demonstrated commitment of community service and have financial need.  Institutions may include community college or four year colleges/universities.  Available for seniors graduating from The Appomattox Regional Governor’s School.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 637, Otis Berry Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must have a 3.0 or better G.P.A. in high school and a 2.0 for current college students.  Must have financial need, demonstrated volunteer service and three letters of recommendation as evidence of good citizenship.  Priority may be given to a child or grandchild of a member of the VFW, Post 637, or the VFW, Post 637 Auxiliary.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Nancy J. Seavy Memorial Scholarship

For students pursuing a career in education or the arts or a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Government, Jounalism or Marketing.  Must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better with extracurricular activities and active participation in the community.  Must have financial need.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Matt Saye Memorial Scholarship

Applicant should plan to pursue a career in criminal justice, legal/law enforcement, physical therapy or speech pathology or has been a member of the Prince George High School baseball team, or will continue their baseball career at an institution which may include technical, community or a four year college OR is a dependent of a full time or part time police or corrections officer.  Students who are currently participating in such a program may also apply.   Applicants must demonstrate extra-curricular involvement, good citizenship, financial need and volunteer service to the community.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Juanita and Wilson Chambers Scholarship

Applicant should attend Hopewell High School and demonstrate academic achievement with a 3.0 G.P.A. or higher, have extracurricular involvement and financial need.  May plan to attend a technical college, community college, or four year college on a full or part time basis.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Jane Bryant Scholarship for the Dramatic Arts

Applicant must attend the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology and have a G.P. A. of 3.0 or above.  Must plan on attending a four year college on a full time basis and plan to further their education in the field of dramatic arts.

 

John Randolph Foundation – James River Ball Patrons Committee Scholarship in Memory of Audrey Eliades

Course of Study: Art, Dance, Dramatic Art, Education, Guidance Counselor, Music, Performing Art, School Counseling, Theatre, Visual Art
Residents of: John Randolph Foundation’s Service Area

Maintains a 3 GPA or higher

Preference may be given to seniors/graduates of Hopewell High School who plan to pursue a career in any art discipline or in the field of education. Seniors/graduates of Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts or Maggie Walker Governor’s School who are Hopewell residents may also apply. Priority may also be given to a child or grandchild of a member of the James River Ball Patrons Committee (regardless of where the child/grandchild lives or what high school he/she attends) who is planning to pursue a career in any art discipline or in the field of education.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Connie Williamson Memorial Scholarship

Applicant should be a senior attending Hopewell High School who plans to attend a four-year college either full or part time.  Must hold or have held a part time job during high school and demonstrate scholastic achievement, participation in the community and have financial need and a G. P. A. of 3.0 or above.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Coach Kevin Ferguson Scholarship

May be awarded for any course of study, however priority may be given to a student who is pursuing a career in Physical Education or has played on the Prince George High School baseball team, or will continue their baseball playing career at the college level.  Applicants

John Randolph Foundation – Chester Rotary, Charles H. Kinsey, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Open to those attending or have an express interest in attending an institution of higher education as a full time or part time undergraduate student (at least 6 hours per semester); be a well-rounded indivdual with extracurricular activities and a G.P.A. of 2.5 or above.  Must demonstrate active participation in the community and provide verification of financial need.  Must demonstrate active participation in an Interact Club and meet the remaining criteria as outlined in the application guidelines.

 

Virginia Mayflower Society Scholarship (Mildred Ramos Scholarship Fund)

ELIGIBILITY

  • Applicant must be a high school senior or home school equivalent, a college undergraduate student, or a university graduate student under the age of 26 (as of March 17, 2026) enrolled in an accredited educational institution.
  • Applicant must have a grade point average of at least B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.
  • Applicant must be a Virginia resident, related to a Virginia resident, related to a member, or a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Applicant must be sponsored by a current teacher, school counselor, or a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Note: Members of the immediate families (i.e., children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law, or daughters-in-law) of members of the Virginia Mayflower Society’s Board of Assistants or of its Scholarship Committee are not eligible for scholarship awards.

 

Henrico Federal Credit Union Continuing Studies Scholarship

Will be awarded to an area student of any age who is planning to continue their formal education.  Applicants must be a member of the Henrico FCU or the child of a Henrico FCU member.  Applicants may apply for this scholarship more than once but cannot win in consecutive years.

 

Henrico Federal Credit Union (Judy A. Davis Poore Memorial Scholarship)

Scholarship to honor long-time supervisory committee chair and member, Judy A. Davis-Poore.  Will be awarded to area high school senior planning to pursue a career in a business-related field.  Applicants must be a Henrico FCU member or the child of a Henrico FCU member.

 

Henrico Federal Credit Union (Fran Chaffin Memorial Scholarship)

Annual scholarship in memory of one of the credit union’s most-loved board members, Fran Chaffin.  Awarded to a high school senior who will begin college or technical school.  Applicants must be a member of Henrico FCU or the child of a  Henrico FCU member.

 

Virginia Museum of Visual Arts Fellowships

Fellowship applicants’ works will be reviewed anonymously by distinguished jurors.  Applicants may submit only one application for one of the disciplines listed on the VMFA link.  Applicants must submit a fellowship application form, a work sample as outlined for a particular discipline, a current resume, artistic statement, and transcript.  Available for college-bound high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professional artists.

 

Maybeury Elementary School Scholarship

Applicant must have attended Maybeury Elementary School for at least 1 year.  Contact high school guidance counselor for additional criteria and application.

 

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity – Jesse M. Tinsley, D.D.S. Scholarship

Available to a male student who can demonstrate financial need and who has a minimum GPA of 2.5.  An essay and two letters of recommendation are required.  Contact high school guidance counselor for additional information.

 

Linhart Foundation Scholarship

Available to a college bound senior who attends Godwin, Tucker, or Freeman High School.  Resume and financial aid form must be submitted to high school guidance counselor.  Must be in top 10% of class, have participated in extracurricular activities and strong SAT scores.  Contact high school guidance counselor for further information.

 

Westhampton Masonic Lodge #302 Scholarship

Graduating seniors of Deep Run High School, Godwin High School, Tucker High School, Freeman High School, Hermitage High School, and Glen Allen High School; and graduating seniors from other high schools that are children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren to a member of Westhampton Masonic Lodge are eligible to apply. Students from Deep Run High School, Godwin High School, Tucker High School, Freeman High School, Hermitage High School, and Glen Allen High School do not need any type of personal or familial Masonic affiliation to apply.

 

 

Battlefield Park Elementary School – Desiree’ Heath Scholarship

Scholarship offered to students who attended BPES and will be graduating from one of the four Hanover County High Schools. Requirements include:  application, transcript showing GPA of 2.5 or higher, two written recommendations, and an essay.  Contact high school guidance counselor for application.

 

Hatcher Cole Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #38 Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Hanover County and a graduating high school senior (public,
private or home school) who will be furthering their education, beginning in the fall of the same
year as the application process, of any postsecondary learning institution; i.e. two-year college,
four-year college, trade or technical school

 

Call Federal Credit Union – Alice S. Pearce Scholarship

Your Call Federal Credit Union account must be in your name as the primary owner, not as a joint owner, at the time of your scholarship application submission. Additionally, the account must be active (not dormant) and in good standing. Each applicant will be judged based on scholarly merit, essay entry, community involvement and leadership. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority – Henrico County Alumnae Chapter

Applicant must reside or attend school in service area.  Transcript, essay, personal statement and letters of recommendation are required.  Must enroll in an accredited 2 or 4 yr. college/university in the fall.

Rivers Edge Elementary School PTA Scholarship

Must have attended Rivers Edge ES for at least 2 years, possess good character, citizenship and be involved in community service.  Contact high school guidance counselor for application.

 

American Water Works Association – VA AWWA – Ray A. Jackson Undergraduate Scholarship

Available to a full time undergraduate student member of AWWA attending school in Virginia currently with a career goal of serving in the water industry.  Requirements include:  a resume highlighting your academic and extracurricular performance and activities, an unofficial or official transcript or official semester schedule of school currently attending, and a completed application.  An essay is required.

 

SDFM, formerly American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC), Southside Virginia Chapter Scholarship Program

Award Criteria/Submission Requirements:

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the final half of his/her school year, or a high school graduate within six months of the application deadline.

Applicant must be entering a field of study leading to a degree from an accredited college/university.

Applicant must live/attend a school within 50 miles of Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.

BayPort Credit Union – Directors Scholarship

Must be a full time undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, trade or vocational school and a member of the credit union.  Seven one-time awards of $2,000 each are available.  The money will be paid directly to the college or university.  Applicants must write an essay on “Why I need the funds” and provide a copy of their current transcripts.

 

BayPort Credit Union – Beard/Bennett Memorial Scholarship

Available for BayPort Credit Union members.  Applicants must be high school seniors or home schooled students to qualify.  Essay winners will receive a $8,000 scholarship ($2,000 each year for four years to an accredited college or university, with the stipulation that each recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA each year to continue receiving the award.)  The money must be used within one year after graduation.  Each applicant must write an essay.

 

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Scholarship

Scholarship opportunity for Virginia criminal justice students

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Scholarship program was established to provide an opportunity for young people across Virginia to pursue an education in criminal justice. Accordingly, the Board of Directors has established the application process for students to receive scholarships to assist in their educational endeavors. The scholarships are available only to students in jurisdictions where sheriffs participated in scholarship fundraising efforts. This program is limited to students attending Virginia colleges and universities.

 

Virginia Grain Producers Association (VGPA) – L. Wayne Kirby Memorial Scholarship

Must be a current or future full-time student, as of upcoming fall, at a Virginia institution of higher education.  Must be closely associated with members of the VGPA, including: members (or dependents of a member) in good standing or an active employee (or dependent of an active employee), employed at least on year, by a member in good standing of the VGPA.  Transcripts, SAT or ACT results, and personal statement required.
