Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence (DSDI) Scholarship

Open to all members of DSDI (junior or senior member) who are enrolled as full-time students for the entire academic year in an approved post-secondary educational institution.

 

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority – Pi Rho Omega Chapter – Tommye R. Finley Scholarship

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicant must be an African American female high school senior.
  • Attends a public or private school located in Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico or Richmond City.
  • Must be in the graduating class of 2024.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Must write an essay of 300 – 500 word on “Why Do You Want to Get a College Education?”

 

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – CST Group Scholarship

Must be enrolled in the fall 2024 semester as a junior or senior undergraduate accounting major at  University of Virginia or George Mason University.

Must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.

 

John Randolph Foundation – Ted Blanks Scholarship

Open to Hopewell High School and Prince George High School seniors pursuing college education in any course of study who demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and desire.  Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

 

Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation – Jack Ferguson Endowment by Henrico 4H/Henrico Extension

To be eligible one must have a minimum of three years membership in the Henrico 4H program.

 

Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation – Tom Goerger Memorial Endowment

Must reside in Colonial Farm Credit territory and major in ag-related field or come from a farming background.

 

American Water Works Association – VA AWWA – Robert C. Hoehn Graduate Scholarship

Full or part time graduate students who are members of AWWA and attending graduate school in Virginia may apply.  Applicants should be students who are pursuing a career in the water industry.  A resume, transcript or semester schedule, official application along with reference letter and essay are required.

 

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – Undergraduate Accounting Scholarship

All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have earned at least three credit hours in accounting
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.7 or higher
  • Be currently enrolled AND enrolled in the fall 2024 semester at an accredited Virginia college or university and intend to obtain a CPA license.
  • Be a student member of the Virginia Society of CPAs.

 

The Virginia Latino Higher Education Network (VALHEN)-Adelante Scholarship Program

Open to Virginia resident students who are of Latino/Hispanic heritage and who have graduated or will graduate from a Virginia high school with a 2.5 GPA.  Applicant must be planning to enroll, or already be enrolled, in an accredited public or private college or university in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  A personal statement is required.

 

GRASP College Success Scholarship

To be eligible for this program students must participate in at least three GRASP College Success e-mail programs this academic year and have at least a 2.5 GPA for the year.  Financial need must be demonstrated and a current FAFSA form should have been filed.  An essay is required.

 

Dixie Youth Baseball Scholarship

For high school seniors.  Must have played in a Dixie Youth Baseball league before the age of 13.  This scholarship is not based on athletic ability.

 

Virginia Educators Credit Union Kenneth B. Bennett Memorial Scholarship

The Kenneth B. Bennett Memorial Scholarship is limited to graduating high school seniors OR full-time college students entering or enrolled in a teacher preparation program.. Each applicant must:

• Be a member of Virginia Educators Credit Union (VECU) who has not previously been awarded a scholarship from VECU.

• Be a full-time student entering the education profession.

• Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – YHB Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in the fall 2024 semester as a junior, senior, fifth year or graduate accounting major.
  • Applicant must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.

 

Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Scholarship

Available to students pursuing careers in the dairy industry.  Applicant should be the child or employee of a Maryland & Virginia member or the child of a Maryland & Virginia employee.  Selection criteria based on commitment to the dairy industry, leadership, integrity, along with extracurricular activities.

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in the fall 2024 semester as a junior, senior, fifth-year or graduate accounting major or a dual major with accounting.
  • Must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – Thomas M. Berry, Jr. Scholarship

All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have earned at least three credit hours in accounting
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.7 or higher
  • Be currently enrolled AND enrolled in the fall 2024 semester at an accredited Virginia college or university and intend to obtain a CPA license.
  • Be a student member of the Virginia Society of CPAs. Student membership is free.
  • Must be a member of one of the following race/ethnic groups: African American or Black, Asian or Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino, Multiracial or Biracial, Native American or Native Alaskan

 

Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation – Colonial Farm Credit Endowment

Must be a resident of Colonial Farm Credit’s chartered lending territory with an agricultural background who will major in an agricultural related field.

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – Minority Accounting Scholarship

Open to students currently enrolled in an accredited Virginia college or university undergraduate accounting program who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.  Applicant must be a member of one of the following race/ethnic groups: American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander or other minority group. Must have GPA of at least 3.0, must have completed at least 3 hours of accounting credits and be enrolled for at least 3 more hours of accounting.

 

Virginia Association for Teachers of Family & Consumer Sciences – Helen Hopper Scholarship

Available for a high school senior, college student or graduate student majoring in Family Life Education.

 

 

Virginia Association for Teachers of Family & Consumer Sciences – Martha Creighton Scholarship

The applicant must be a graduate of a Virginia high school who is planning to pursue or is pursuing an education in Family and Consumer Sciences or a Family and Consumer Sciences related field.

 

 

Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) – FORVIS Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in the Fall 2024 semester as a junior, senior or “fifth-year” undergraduate, or graduate accounting major with the intent to take the CPA Exam.
  • Must demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.

 

Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association – Albert James Shoosmith Scholarship & C. W. Bryant Memorial Scholarship

Open to graduating high school seniors or equivalent, or college students taking at least nine credit hours per semester at an accredited college/university for the next academic year (undergraduate or associate’s degree program at community college are eligible, but graduate students are not). Applicants must be majoring in horticulture.

 

Virginia PTA Scholarship Program

Eligibility is limited to students graduating from high schools with local PTA units in good standing with Virginia PTA, according to the Standards of Affiliation

    Students enrolled in a four-year academic degree program

Times-Dispatch / Sports Backers Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Award

Open to high school student athletes, one male and one female per month, who are: nominated by their school’s trainer or coach; exhibit good character; demonstrate academic achievement; and maintain a 3.0 GPA.  See high school coach or trainer for more information.

 

 

Hamilton Relay Scholarship

Scholarship is to support students who are deaf, hard of hearing, DeafBlind or have difficulty speaking in their post-secondary education.

The Hamilton Relay Scholarship is extended to a qualifying high school student living within one of the states where Hamilton Relay is the contracted telecommunications relay and/or captioned telephone service provider. This includes California, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Saipan, Utah, Virginia and Washington.

In each of these states, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to one eligible applicant.
